My community has been dealing with devastating flooding. It has been labeled the thousand year flood. It is so sad to see so many of our friends who have lost so much and have no flood insurance to rebuild and recover. Thankfully, our county has been one of the counties in TN officially considered a Federal disaster area. My city was somewhat grid locked due to many road closures. We have two rivers that flooded swallowing up main roads, businesses and homes. The Cumberland River crested at 62.5 ft, 16.5 ft above flood level. As of 3 pm today, the river is still at 56 ft (flood stage is 46 ft.). Please pray for all of those affected by this flood and consider giving to the American Red Cross to help those who are in desperate need.
I am so sorry to hear about your disaster. We are trying to move to Eastern Tenn. (as soon as well sell our house)so I am feeling a kindred spirit with TN. I put the video on my blog. Thanks for sharing it.

OMG...I didn't know that this was happening in Tenn. we don't watch TV and I haven't had alot of time to view news online...I am so glad you are okay, I will keep you guys and all those affected by this in prayer!!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry. It is awful to witness first hand. We were lucky when a bad flood hit our area years back, but saw streets and streets of homes with destroyed belongings, etc. and stores that had to start over, etc. So sad. Prayers for you and your community.
