We made and printed these out on card stock then laminated them. You can print them out here.

Counting number line
Friday
March 26, 2010
My daughter is a visual learner. We use this counting activity to enforce her number recognition. At The Dollar Tree we found this number border pack. We secured one to the wall and cut the other up by individual numbers. She runs the number card along the line as she counts. She likes multisensory learning. We paper clip the numbers to the back side of the number line for storage.

Number Matching
Thursday
October 22, 2009
We like to have the lights off in our learning room/classroom as long as there is enough light. We save on electricity and it's FUN!! So, I apologize if it's a little hard to see the pictures. A while ago, I found these incredible number cards that Jolanthe made at Homeschool Creations. The set includes numbers, roman numerals, dots, and number words. We laminated them to last longer. Meara LOVES to ring a service bell. Today, we pulled out our magnets, cards, cookie sheet, and the service bell. She practiced counting the dotted cards, reading the number cards and matching the correct magnet number on the cookie sheet. If she got it wrong I made a buzzer sound (which she found very amusing). If she got it right she was able to ring the service bell herself (which she also found very amusing).

Egg Game
Friday
April 10, 2009
I had been thinking of ideas for learning games with Meara. Two years ago I came up with this idea. As Meara has gotten older I switched from using the same color top and bottom to mismatching the colors. Now, she has to really think about the numbers instead of just automatically matching them by color. Their are 15 beans so she can count out the correct number for inside each egg.

Measuring with Pennies
Friday
January 30, 2009
I found this great idea for measurement from Scholastic. Meara really enjoyed it especially because she was able to use pennies for the measuring tool (she LOVES Abraham Lincoln). It was fun to pick items from around the house to find out how many pennies it took to measure each item.

We subscribe to Scholastic's Let's Find Out and Clifford. I remember these sheets from when I was a kid. They are little mini paper magazines with educational material included. This worksheet came from the January edition.
I found this great book Let's Fold! at Target. Meara has had a lot of fun learning to fold on the dotted line. The sunday school curriculum at church has a lot of folding on the worksheets they do. So far she really enjoys it and asks if she can do it often.

Number matching blocks
August 2008
I found these number blocks at http://www.learningresources.com/product/inflatable+number+blocks.do?search=basic&keyword=number+blocks&sortby=best&asc=true&page=1 they were on sale when I got ours. We fill up the laundry basket and Meara lays them out and matches the numbers together.
This is the description from Learning Resources: A fun and active way to learn your numbers! These clever inflatable blocks attached together with hook-and-loop fasteners to teach numerical order or build simple equations. Includes 26 blocks that feature numerals, Roman numerals, written names and domino-style dots for numbers 1 through 10. Math operation signs also included. Blocks are made of vinyl and deflate for storing.

Clothsline number fun
November 2007
I LOVE this website...http://www.sparklebox.co.uk/. They have over a thousand FREE printables. I found these wonderful print outs of clothing that have numbers printed on them. Meara really enjoys hanging laundry on a clothesline. Usually we use her doll clothes and old baby clothes. This has helped her with number sequencing.
